Obstetric & Gynecological Anesthesiology

General Information

Clinical Care

We are committed to providing round-the-clock coverage of the labor and delivery floor. We also offer consultative services and management for high-risk obstetric patients as well as education classes for patients on the analgesic options for labor and delivery.

Residency Training

Residents spend two months in their CA-1 and CA-2 years becoming proficient in providing care for the routine patient. In the CA-3 year, residents spend at least two months learning obstetric anesthesia for the high-risk patient. Residents participate in daily high-risk rounds and consultations.

Research

Outcomes and assessment of the use of dilute local anesthetic/opioid combinations continue to be a focus of our clinical research.
